“On July 11, 2014 Paul Backers and I met with Barry and Sheryl Oberg with Vehicle Licensing Consultants (VLC) to discuss their taking over our commercial registration processing. Our Administrator who was handling our registrations at the time was getting ready to retire and we were looking to possibly outsource our licensing process. During this meeting we discussed the initial licensing of new vehicles, Permanent Fleet Registration (PFR) for our existing and fleet and future vehicles, as well as IRP registrations and IFTA licensing for our interstate vehicles.
What we discovered during the meeting was that VLC was capable of handling all of those tasks and much, much more. We also found that we could get our vehicles added to PFR or IRP within a few days rather than having to wait a month or more, and there would be no more trips to the DMV office for us! That initial meeting was just the beginning of a great relationship between Coast Counties Peterbilt PacLease and VLC.
In addition to our normal registration processes, over the past five years plus, VLC has helped us with lost license plates or stickers, transferring titles when vehicles are transferred between one PacLease franchise to another, alerting us to outstanding citations that could hold up renewing the registration and providing us with expert advice on various licensing issues. They are always quick to respond either by phone or e-mail to any questions or concerns we may have.
In the last couple of years they have streamlined the renewal process even more by using modern technology to set up our monthly PFR renewals online. We simply check a box to either renew, delete, or file a partial year registration on each vehicle that is due that month. We know the fees in advance and our able to see a total within minutes. Our fees are then electronically transferred and the renewal process is complete. This year they have added the same capability to the IRP Renewal process.
VLC has provided great customer service to Coast Counties Peterbilt PacLease. Their people are all friendly and ready to help in any way they can, and if they don’t know the answer they usually get one within a day or so if not sooner. They have saved us a lot time and energy that we have been able to put into other areas of our business over the years. We would be lost without them and will continue this great relationship with them as our vehicle licensing partner.”
